Claim a listing<p>The Pound Ridge Volunteer Fire Department has been on Westchester Avenue since the late 1940s but was formed originally in 1933 by 32 volunteers. After the first firehouse burned down in 1936, generous donations, as well as several town fundraising events, funded construction on the present-day firehouse in the '40s; it continues to serve the community today.</p> <p>The chief is Ernest Schelling. First assistant is Stewart Marshall, and the second assistant is Carl L. Brueninger.</p>
