The Rwanda Education Assistance Project is a non-profit organization that works to improve education for children and orphans in Rwanda. It focuses its efforts on a rural village school it works with. It was founded by Sharon and Ed Ballen with the intent of forming a model school that can be replicated throughout Rwanda. So far REAP has provided teacher training for Rwandan teachers at the Duha School, provided electricity to the village and school there, built nine new classrooms, constructed pit toilets, broken ground on a Community Center, provided health screenings for 500 kindergarten students, and has led many other projects in this village as well. Visit the website for information on how to get involved.
