Even LESS reason to join Optimum Rewards now.

I would hope they appreciate the old time atmosphere at Bedford Cinema and its foyer/refreshmentRead More stand and don't try to modernize it. Attending movies there is like entering a time machine and stopping in the 1950s.

Think this sale will impact your movie-going experience in Bedford or Mt. Kisco - positively orRead More otherwise?

A Korean Market would be perfect!! Where we can get reasonably priced lunch, flowers fruits andRead More veggies! That would stay open until at least 7Pm. It would be just perfect for this town and commuters would love it too!! This town need some kind of a pick me up soon!!!!

I agree 100%. I was there as well last Sat. and brought my high school age daughter. Most of herRead More White Plains High School friends were there with their families. It was a great day for everyone.

Rob Astorino claims "Families don't go to Playland anymore." But when I was there on aRead More rainy cold opening day on Saturday, I was SURROUNDED by nothing but families - even HIS family was there. They all came out in the lousy weather to have a good time. Parents and kids and grandparents and every combo of aunt uncle cousin etc. you could imagine, all different colors, ethnicities, cultural backgrounds, many different languages being spoken, everyone happy to see the place open again, getting along, smiling, having a good time. I think I was about the only person there who *wasn't* with kids. Families families families. But...don't you know...families don't go to Playland anymore? People love Playland. They want to see it brought back to life as a vibrant amusement park, not dismantled for a grassy field and indoor sports facility.

You must be the only person in Westchester that doesn't have wonderful feelings/memories aboutRead More Playland. It is so sad.

Thanks for putting together a great list, Lisa. My mouth is watering already! So many choices andRead More yet, I think I'm going to opt for the new bagel place in town . . . Goldberg's Famous Bagels. I have already tried their baked salmon salad and am now a forever fan! I love the idea of having brunch at home - as long as I don't leave the cooking to the kids! I've just made a correction to indicate the car wash application for Splash's new location has beenRead More in process for approximately three years, not one year as originally noted.

Is Splash going to sue the Town of Bedford for acting as his landlord's hand maiden?

The Playhouse building IS a bit of an eyesore - it looks tired and seems poorly maintained. IfRead More Phoenix Capital can't spruce up the building it already has, why allow them to put up another one?
Don Pachner April 24, 2013 at 01:28 pm
If the developer would be willing to pay for a waste water treatment system for the entire buildingRead More complex, perhaps I would listen. Otherwise, this is simply an exercise in poor planning. The proposal should not even have reached this stage without proof that treatment of waste is feasible. Rezoning or a variance would edefinitely be classified as a Type 1 action, or an article 78 would possibly follow.

Mt Kisco may love big-box or big-brand retail, but not Bedford!
