Foxes defeated, 5-1, in second round of playoffs.
In what looked to be an underdog victory for the Fox Lane Foxes turned into a 5-1 victory for the Rye Garnets Wednesday night at Playland. Though the Foxes turned the heat on midway through the first period of play - scoring the first point of the game - the Garnets came back in the second and third period, skating away with a four-point win over the Foxes while advancing to the semi-finals this Friday. Here is a photo gallery of the game from Patch's Gregory Vigliotti.

The Foxes received goals from Joe Corsi and Donnie Castaldo and 30 saves from goalie Cody Williams; will face Rye next.
Fox Lane's ice hockey team brought home a big 2-1 win over Byram Hills in the opening round of the Division II ice hockey playoffs Monday. The Foxes had a stingy defense and received an amazing game from goalie Cody Williams. In their first playoff appearance in three years, the Foxes went onto the ice visibly determined. Coming off a painful season last year and starting this season with Charles Berger as the new head coach, the Foxes quickly showed the league they were much improved. Since he took over as coach, Berger talked about upping the tempo while getting more physical on the ice. After a season of working on those goals, the Foxes proved just how ready they were when it came game time. Both teams came out in top form. Byram …

The Foxes are in the postseason for the first time in three years. Now they have their sights set on even bigger things.
The Fox Lane ice hockey team is happy to make the playoffs after failing to qualify in each of the past two seasons. But that doesn't mean the team doesn't have even higher aspirations. "Some of them have never been in a playoff game and it's very exciting for them, but we've had a goal since day one and that's the section championship," Head Coach Charles Berger said. "We're happy to be in the playoffs but in no means are we satisfied. We want to go somewhere." The Foxes (11-8-1) will be seeded anywhere from 5th to 8th when the seeds are determined Friday night, which means they are guaranteed to host a first-round playoff game on Monday. "We just have to keep playing our game," said senior Conor Morris, a four-year varsity player. "Not …

Fox Lane's Josh Wollman and Adrian Crasto each score their first goals of the season in the victory.
Coming off two consecutive losses, the Fox Lane went into Saturday's game against Horace Greeley undeterred. "We want to put the past behind us," Foxes Head Coach Charles Berger said. While the Foxes skated to an 8-3 win against the Quakers at the Brewster Ice Arena, they were inconsistent. They were great in spurts but also struggled at times. When they were at their best, they played typical Fox Lane Hockey: fast tempo, aggressive passes and stellar defensive plays. When cold, the Foxes looked sluggish, allowing the Quakers to press their defense and goalie, giving up a couple goals to the winless Greeley squad. Even with their bouts of sluggishness, the Foxes managed to get two of their players their first goals of the season. Both …
