Forget about Mr. McVetty. He's here to waste our time, not to have a real discussion. I quote, "Meredith, We got that from reading Saul David Alinsky's book Rules for Radicals. Works both ways, doesn't it?"

Not sure why you took this off the board? The private sector budgets both according to what they can afford and to what they can get away with. In a depressed economy you don't have to offer any benefits. That's why the burden of healthcare and pensions should NOT be on corporate shoulders, but administered by public interests.
This is the most affluent company in the world, by a pretty wide margin, we can afford to take care of our old and sick.

Bjorn, in answer to your question, "Why is everyone complaining that government workers still have some benefits a lot of people in the private sector used to have, instead of asking why everyone else has lost them?" The answer is because the private sector budgets their money according to what they can afford. They try not to go in debt otherwise their business will go under. They won't get a bailout...The government just raises taxes to get the money they need. But now that many people can't afford the skyrocketing taxes who are afraid of losing their homes due to the increased taxes and unstable economy is why the people are voicing their concern. That's why the people who aren't employed by the government are complaining!

I know, but in the end "getting someone" doesn't help foster honest discussion either, as amusing as it can be.

Aw, you gave it away, I was wondering how much longer he'd be talking about Kensington economics.
