Series Presents: Take the Mic In Your Own Style with James Navé

On Sunday, November 10, from 10:00 am- 4:00 pm, James Navé—poet,
performer and creativity coach— will teach a one-day spoken-word workshop that
will help creative writers and storytellers perfect their stage presence when
reading their work before an audience. Instruction will include practice techniques such as
taking your time onstage, connecting emotionally with your work, and using your
body as your instrument. Effective memorization skills will also be taught. Bring a notebook,
pen, and some original writing.

James Navé founded the Imaginative Storm Writing Workshops in Taos, NM and co-founded
the school program Poetry Alive! Navé holds an MFA in
writing from Vermont College and has memorized over six hundred poems! He will
be performing A Child’s Christmas in
Wales at Katonah Village Library this December 8 (4PM), as a free, family
holiday event presented by KPS.
