Barks from the Dog Park: Responsible Dog Ownership Day

What's new at Bedford's Canine Commons? Well, the installation of a 300 square foot shade structure is now complete. Donated to the town by Bedford Dog Owner's Group (BDOG), the structure was expertly installed by the Parks Department staff.

"September is Responsible Dog Owner Month." BDOG, in cooperation with the Bedford Recreation and Parks Department, will celebrate with Responsible Dog Ownership Day at the Canine Commons located at 135 Beaver Dam Road in Katonah - Bedford's own dog park. The event is open to all and will take place on Saturday, September 28 from Noon - 3 PM. (Rain Date: October 12)
Attendees will be treated to tours of the dog park, tips on getting a park permit and basic rules of the park, agility demonstrations and lots of free handouts on topics of interest to dog owners and their families.
The event is meant to be informal in nature; make a quick visit or stay for awhile and speak to BDOG Board members about the dog park and our relationship with the Town of Bedford. BDOG has donated almost $10,000 worth of enhancements to the park over the last two years including fence repairs, new benches and the new shade structure. Our signature "Made in USA" BDOG baseball caps will be available with any donation of $20 or more to BDOG.
So come, enjoy getting to know our great facility and...bring your dog - on leash, please!
