Serious PIAA on Interstate 684 Sends Three People to Hospital
On Aug. 19, 2012, at approximately 11:13 a.m. the New York State Police of SP Somers investigated a one-car serious personal injury auto accident that occurred on I-684 southbound in the Town of Bedford.
The driver of the vehicle, 39-year-old Celia C. Rodriguez, of Danbury, CT, operating a maroon 2002 Jeep, was traveling in the left lane southbound on I-684. The operator lost control of the vehicle for an unknown reason, it turned on its side, and struck a tree.
She suffered head trauma and chest injuries, and is currently in critical condition.
The vehicle was also occupied by a 15-year-old male and a 2-year-old male, both also of Danbury. Mrs. Rodriguez was transported by Stat Flight helicopter and the two males were transported by Katonah/Bedford Hills EMS to Westchester Medical Center.
The investigation into the accident continues.

A helicopter landed on I-684 on Sunday after what appeared to be a white SUV overturned heading south near Exit 5 in Bedford. NY State Police from the Somers barracks, who are handling the case, would not confirm the number of passengers involved in the accident or details about the injuries. Traffic was slowed near the exit for approximately two hours until the accident was cleared around 1 p.m.
