Lewisboro Town Supervisor Charged with DWI

Charles Duffy was driving on Route 123 when he was stopped by state police.

Lewisboro Town Supervisor Charles Duffy faces a charge of driving while intoxicated, a misdemeanor.

State police said Duffy, 44, was stopped at 10:30 pm. Friday on Route 123 in Lewisboro for a vehicle and traffic violation. Subsequent investigation revealed he was intoxicated; Duffy refused to submit to a chemical test, police said.

He was issued uniform traffic tickets and is due in Town of Lewisboro Court Sept. 12.

When reached at his home early Saturday afternon via phone, Duffy told Patch he preferred not to comment "until the issue was resolved."

Duffy has been supervisor of the town of Lewisboro since 2010 and is seeking re-election to the position this fall. Duffy, a registered Conservative, is running against Democrate Peter Parsons.
