Where to Celebrate Cinco de Mayo in Bedford

If you're looking for places to enjoy specials on May 5, Bedford-Katonah Patch has you covered.

Cue up the mariachi band—Cinco de Mayo is fast approaching.

The celebration of Mexican heritage on May 5 is sometimes mistaken for Mexico’s Independence Day. However, Cinco de Mayo actually commemorates the Battle of Puebla, a turning point in Mexican history and freedom. In the U.S., it is celebrated by observing Mexican culture through food, drinks and dancing.

Salsa Fresca Mexican Grill on Bedford Road in Bedford Hills is offering a special Shrimp Burrito made with brown rice, avocado, chipotle aioli, red onion and corn and black bean salsa for $5. There's a deal on Corona and Corona Lights, too: $1 each.

The Yorktown location, which recently added 12 outdoor seats, will run the same burrito special.

Both eateries are offering a free limited edition Salsa Fresca t-shirts for customers who spend $20 or more.
