FREE Positive Birth Group in Katonah for Pregnant Women & New Moms Starts June 2nd!

WHAT is a Positive Birth Group?  This new monthly group facilitated by two experienced Birth Doulas begins June 2nd from 11:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and is open to women thinking of getting pregnant, already pregnant, or new moms - regardless of background, experience, or birthing choices - to come together and share thoughts, feelings, and insights about childbirth.

The PB Group - Katonah will provide a warm, welcoming place in a private home to hear stories and ideas, to consider what you really want from your childbirth experience, and to challenge any fears or negative expectations you might have.

This new group is part of a grass roots movement (www.positivebirthmovement.org), spreading positivity about childbirth via a global network of free Positive Birth groups, linked up by social media.

Want to know what a Doula (doo-lah) is?  The difference between a midwife and an OB/GYN?  What choices you can make to ensure the best birth?  After all, giving birth is even more important than planning your wedding!

Facilitators and Certified Birth Doulas Robin Jones and Julietta Appleton will be able to answer your questions and/or give you referrals.  Both are members of the Hudson Valley Birth Network.  Ms. Appleton is the founder and former director of Westchester's first freestanding birth center.

Please tell your pregnant friends and neighbors about this exciting new group, and invite new moms to come and share their positive birth stories!  Babies are of course, welcome.

Contact Robin Jones, CD(DONA) at doulawestchester@gmail.com or 914.815.6723 for the meeting location and to join our mailing list, and hope to see you on June 2nd.

Please visit the group's FB page, Positive Birth Group - Katonah, for information on upcoming meetings.  Visit us on Twitter at PozBirthKatonah.
