Traffic Safety Proposal for Bedford: A Timely Idea

At a recent Town Board work session, Supervisor Chris Burdick acted on one of the major concerns he heard during his campaign: the issue of traffic safety in Bedford. Based on those resident concerns, he has proposed a Traffic Safety Advisory Committee be formed to review the issue and foster solutions to speeding and distracted driving: commonly referred to as traffic calming. Most Westchester municipalities have such a committee among their advisory organizations. An effort to proactively deal with these concerns seems like a good idea. If you agree, let our our town officials know. Let's not wait until tragedy strikes to address safety matters affecting everyone who uses our streets and sidewalks.
