Lewisboro Swim and Dive Off to a Fast Start!

With their first A Meet just days away, Lewisboro Swim and Dive hits the water this week working on starts.

Open to boys and girls ages 6-17, the Lewisboro Swim and Dive Team aka The Lewisboro Crush has kicked off its 2012 Season with over 130 swimmers and divers.

Practices started the week of June 25th and with just under two weeks in the water the team is showing great progress.

In preparation for the team's first A Meet at home this Saturday, July 7th, practices this week were focused on fast starts.

Newcomers to swim team along with coaches Gigi Antonelle and Donny McLoughin worked on their dives and were introduced to the starting blocks.

Returning swimmers under the guidance of Head coach Meg Kaplan and swim coaches Jamie Ring, Matt Kaufman and Max Delin, focused on building strength and endurance with longer sets. Looking strong and techinically sound, the team is looking forward to another rewarding summer swim season.

The dive team is excited to see its roster grow this season.  The team has  five returning divers with a solid foundation who are coming back with strong dive lists, coupled with the thirteen new divers who are eager to learn, Coaches Chloe and Cassie Ring expect the team to grow and continue to improve as the season progresses.

According to Coach Cassie Ring, "Everyone seems very excited to come to practice, which has been reflected in their pursuits to learn new dives."  Ring further stated, "Our main focus is to give every diver the opportunity to compete, whether it be in an A meet or a B Dive meet."
