Bedford Central Honors its Athletes, Artists

Dozens of students were honored Wednesday night at the Bedford Central School District's board of education meeting, whether for their athletic prowess or for artistic talent.

“This is a very special evening for us," said Superintendent Jere Hochman.

The honorees included students from Fox Lane High School and Fox Lane Middle School, along with a teacher and a foundation board member.

The Bedford FAME REACH Award

The REACH award is meant to honor people "who have made outstanding contributions to the excellence of education within the Bedford Central School District."

This year's recipients are Malynda Nichol, a Fox Lane Middle School science teacher, and Randy Faust, a co-president for FAME whose involvement with the group pre-dates it formation. FAME, which is a schools foundation, was formed from the merger of two support groups: CEF and FOMA.
