school offering group guitar lessons this January

Bedford, NH – January 7, 2014—North Main
Music is offering a 6-week beginner guitar after school program at Peter
Woodbury School this winter, from January 15 through February 19. Guitar
lessons for 8 to 12 year olds will be held on Wednesdays from 4:30 pm to 5:30
pm, and lessons for kids ages 12 and above will be held on Wednesdays from 5:30
pm to 6:30 pm.

This winter marks the fifth
year of the beginner guitar after school program at Peter Woodbury. Instructors
for this winter’s program will be Jeff Moore and Mike McAdam, co-directors of
North Main Music. During the program, students may use either an acoustic or
electric guitar.  Students will learn how
to pick, strum, do warm up exercises, and play their favorite songs.

“My mom signed me up for it
because she read about it in the newspaper,” said Jessica Lin, a student in the
fall 2013 Beginner Guitar program. “I decided to try it and I really like it.
It’s fun and our teacher is really nice and explains things very well.”

“It’s awesome to watch
these kids become excited about playing music,” said Jeff Moore. “Several students
who started out in this beginner class are now further advancing their guitar
skills through private instruction; and it’s clear that they are growing and
gaining confidence through music education.”

Established
in 2003, North Main Music offers high quality music instruction for kids and
adults. North Main Music teachers are all graduates from renowned music
programs such as Berklee College of Music, the New England Conservatory, and Boston
University. When first opened by owner and director, Mike McAdam, the school
provided electric guitar, acoustic guitar and bass lessons. In 2007, McAdam
expanded the school through the addition of voice, piano and drum programs.
Then, in 2010, North Main Music opened a second school in Bedford, NH.

Tuition for
the Beginner Guitar After School program is $140 per child.  Space is limited, so students are strongly
