Manhattan College Major Author Reading Series Continues with Poet Jane Springer

As part of Manhattan College’s three-part Major Author Reading Series (M.A.R.S.), poet Jane

Springer will visit Manhattan College on Thursday, April 3 at 6:30 p.m.



An award-winning writer, Springer’s first poetry collection, Dear

Blackbird (2007), received the Agha Shahid Ali Prize for poetry from the

University of Utah Press. In 2012, her second collection of poetry,

Murder Ballad, was published and received the Beatrice Hawley Award.

The M.A.R.S. lecture series kicked off with a visit from poets Kwame Dawes (March 12). The series will conclude with Chris Tusa, author of Dirty Little Angels (2009), on Thursday, April 24 at 6:30 p.m.

This event is free, open to the public, and will be held in Hayden Hall room 100
