WESTCHESTER ORATORIO PRESENTS AN EVENING EN ESPANA

The Westchester Oratorio Society will hold its fall fundraiser, a soirée entitled "An evening en España," on Saturday evening, October 26, 2013, at the beautiful Parish Hall of St. Matthew's Episcopal Church in Bedford Hills, New York.

The event, which features an intimate recital by the internationally acclaimed guitar ensemble, "The Australian Guitar Duo," starts off with an extensive tasting of Spanish wines courtesy of owner Robert Zalkin of Goldens Bridge Fine Wines, accompanied by Spanish food and desserts and a raffle basket of select Spanish wines.

Of the guitar duo Rupert Boyd and Jacob Cordover, the British publication "Classical Guitar" wrote "The Australian Guitar Duo has got it all: perfect synchronisation, beautiful phrasing and tone, and charismatic good looks.” Rupert Boyd is acclaimed as one of the most talented guitarists of his generation and has been described by the "Washington Post" as, "truly evocative." Jacob Cordover, who lives in Barcelona, has been hailed as an exceptional guitarist with intuitive musicianship and impeccable technique, whose playing, according to "Classical Guitar," manages to get to the very soul... of the music."

Wines tasted will be available for order, and full cases will be discounted. Proceeds from the event (including 10% of the wine sales) will benefit the programs of the Westchester Oratorio Society and the Robert C McDonald Scholarship Fund. The group, which rehearses Tuesday evenings at the Katonah Village Library, is now in its 17th season, the seventh under direction of Benjamin Niemczyk.

"An evening en España" begins at 5 PM. St. Matthews Episcopal Church is located at 382 Cantitoe Street (Route 22) , Bedford Hills, NY. Tickets are $40  per person. Advanced purchase is recommended for this popular event. Email WestchesterOratorio@gmail.com for more information or visit
