Support-A-Walk for breast and ovarian cancer. Oct. 7. 9 a.m. join the 18th Annual Support-A-Walk for breast and ovarian cancer awareness in Yorktown Heights to bring attention to the needs of people impacted by breast and ovarian cancer. The walk is presented by Support Connection, Inc. Procees go to Support Connection’s free support services for people affected by breast and ovarian cancer. Horseman's Hollow. Oct. 7. All day. Head to Philipsburg Manor for the ultimate haunted experience as third-annual Horseman’s Hollow returns. There's a haunted trail showcasing scenes from a town driven mad by the Headless Horseman, scary zombie-like creatures, and a twisted trail maze of horrors. Crystal Tracks Bracelet Class. Oct. 8. 11 a.m. Get creative with crystals when you make your own ladder-base crystal bangle-shaped bracelet. Some experience required. Beads Mosaic, 78 S Middletown Rd, Nanuet. $50.

Film: Cages of Shame. Oct. 9. 7:30 p.m. Cages of Shame tells the story of 10 bears rescued from a bile farm in Shandong Province, China. Directed by Martin Guinness and narrated by Emmy Award winner Peter Coyote. All proceeds from this screening go to the Tarrytown Music Hall and the Animals Asia Foundation. Tarrytown Music Hall, 13 Main St, Tarrytown. $20.

Celebrities: We Remember Them Well. Oct. 6. Noon. See approximately 150 rare celebrity portraits on display including John Lennon and Yoko Ono, Marilyn Monroe, and Louis Armstrong. The photos are culled from private collections and galleries. All photographs are for sale. The exhibit runs through Nov. 10. ArtsWestchester, 31 Mamaroneck Ave, White Plains. Free.

PJ Walsh Returns for Comedy Nights. Oct. 6. 7 p.m. Comic PJ Walsh, a Brewster native, returns to his roots for another comedy show benefiting local veterans. The show is presented by H. G. Okay but let's focus on the charter of the BOE. The Board of Education believes its primaryRead More responsibility should focus on creating an educational environment that will help our students become knowledgeable individuals, problem-solvers, quality producers, effective communicators, wholesome individuals, collaborative workers, ethical individuals, life-long learners, and responsible, accepting and involved citizens. We remain committed to providing a high quality, well-balanced educational program that supports our faculty and staff and helps our students meet and exceed State standards as well as high district goals. It says nothing about protecting the investments of taxpayers by voting "no" on every expenditure. We need forward thinking, broad minded individuals to help guide educational direction of our schools. Keeping expenses reasonable and and in check should be a consideration by the educational focus should be primary. Although novices, Trustees Tobin and Schiff have helped true the course of the board back to the direction of education. Mr Stone who himself admitted he had never even been to a BOE meeting before deciding to run offers no sense of motivation other than Dr Treyz and his friends think he'll help shift the direction back toward finance. Mr Holbrook is no different a candidate than Mr Lipton himself was 6 years ago.
