Bedford Fire Department Gets New Rescue 44 Truck

Bedford firefighters got a glimpse of the fire department's newest apparatus Thursday evening, with the new Rescue 44 parked in the driveway of their firehouse in Bedford Village.

The truck, which is red and black, is a Spartan and replaces a 1994 truck, which was the previous vehicle to carry the Rescue 44 name. The fate of the old truck has not been decided, according to Pete Lazaro, Bedford's first assistant chief.
