Bedford Hills Man, 28, Accused of Drug Possession

A 28-year-old Bedford Hills man is accused of possessing methamphetamine, Bedford Police said.

At around 12:30 a.m. on July 23, a police officer driving a car with a license plate reader noticed an eastbound vehicle traveling on Harris Road, near Bedford Road. The reader alerted the officer to the possibility of the driver having a suspended registration, resulting in a traffic stop, police said, with a bag a white powder reportedly being found in the vehicle. The substance was determined to be 600 milligrams worth of methamphetamine.

The man was arrested and charged with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance, along with operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, with each count being a misdemeanor. The suspect is due in Bedford's town court on Aug. 8 at 7 p.m.
