Car Accident, Power Down for Several Hours on Route 22 in Katonah

Residents heard a loud boom and power went out.

Police temporarily closed the road near the Harvey School's Maxwell Evarts Rink on Sunday afternoon when a single-vehicle accident occurred and power went down in the surrounding area.

At around 2 p.m. residents of Katonah living along Route 22 near Jay Street heard a boom before power flickered and went out. Emergency workers responded to a dispatch call for a single-vehicle accident. A utility pole leaned to the side following the accident.

Two ambulances, according to an officer at the scene, responded to the incident, along with the fire department.

Power was restored for residents around 5 p.m.

A Bedford Bears hockey game that was in progress at the Harvey rink was cancelled due to the power outage.

This is a terrific addition to town! I know I struggle with mounting piles of things to donate andRead More finding places to give to. With the Community Center and now Goodwill, great to find a second home for goods.
