Police: 2 Fire Investigations Continue

One of the blazes looks to have been 'suspicious in nature,' authorities say.

The Bedford-Katonah area saw four fires in the last couple of months, and two of the cases are still open, according to Bedford Police Department (BPD).

Officials continue to investigate the blaze at 334 Hook Road in Katonah. It destroyed a vacant home early New Year's Day. The fire has been deemed "suspicious in nature," BPD Lt. Jeffrey Dickan said.

The second open case is the Jan. 8 three-alarm fire at 109 Stone Bridge Lane in Bedford Hills. Nearly 100 firefighters battled the flames. No one was home at the time.

Authorities have identified causes in a Jan. 31 fire at a Cross River Road Home in Katonah, and a Jan. 15 fire at 23 South Road in Katonah. Both were declared accidental, and electrical, in nature. The former was storm-related.
