FATAL ACCIDENT ON INTERSTATE 684
At approximately 12:35 p.m. on Jan. 5, 2013, a 2010 Honda Civic, operated by Ellen Rann, 70 years of age from Queens, NY, was traveling northbound on Interstate-684 in the Town of Lewisboro when for unknown reasons she veered out of the center lane, crossed into the slow lane, continued onto the shoulder then onto the grassy area of the highway striking a tree head on.
The operator, Rann, was pronounced deceased at the scene by Westchester EMS.
The passenger, a 57 year old female from Manhattan, NY, was transported to Northern Westchester Hospital where she was later pronounced deceased by the medical staff.
