Wrong-Way Driver Forces Cars Off Parkway
An 87-year-old Mohegan Lake man drove the wrong way on the Taconic State Parkway for three miles before crashing into a guardrail. Several cars were forced off the road during the incident, but no injuries were sustained. Police said that the man did not appear to be under the influence of drugs or alcohol, but he did appear to be disoriented after the incident.
Amawalk Man Allegedly Pointed Gun at Mt. Kisco Man: Police
An Amawalk man allegedly pointed a gun at a Mount Kisco man at Eduardo's Restaurant & Lounge on Valentine's Day, according to Mount Kisco police. The Amawalk man allegedly said he would shoot the gun at the Mount Kisco man. The alleged victim is not pressing charges.
Guilty Plea to Petty Larceny in $3M Lottery Jackpot Swindle
A man accused of scamming an immigrant worker out of a $3 million lottery prize pleaded guilty to the charges in Rockland County. Charges against two other men thought to be involved in the scam have been dismissed following a deadlocked jury. The man who pleaded guilty of the crime was accused of convincing the winner that his immigration status would be jeopardized if he cashed the winning ticket and that he would be deported. Initial payments were deposited into the scammers account. The victim will now begin receiving his prize, $150,000 a year for 20 years.
Ossining police responded to a call from a resident saying a man in a hooded sweatshirt was banging on her door. Police determined the man was a pizza delivery man who was at the wrong home.

Doctor Accused of Selling Oxycodone to Drug Dealers in Nyack and NYC
The New York State Attorney General has filed a 55-count indictment against a Nyack doctor accused of selling millions of dollars worth of oxycodone and other powerful pain medications prescriptions to drug dealers from his Nyack and Midtown Manhattan offices. The doctor, a psychiatrist, is also accused of underreporting his income by at least $500,000 over a two-year period and being in possession of controlled substances.
SPCA Investigates Cat's Death After Gunshot in Putnam Lake
A 7-month-old cat was shot in the Putnam Lake area of Patterson and was left paralyzed from the injury and eventually died days later. SPCA officers transported the cat to Westchester Animal Hospital where it was found to have a kind of bullet in its spine that came from either a high-powered BB gun or a low-caliber rifle.
