Division A
On Thursday June 2nd, Coach DeLucia’s single “A” Rockies squared off against Coach Adam Kern’s Orioles. The Rockies offense was led by Jake Kauftheil and Anthony Protomastro who both went 4 for 4. Justin DeLucia & Andrew Hammer both showed some impressive power at the plate with two hot line drives from DeLucia and a 5th inning shot from Hammer that hit the outfield grass! Jackson Andrew, Gabriel Feinstein, Jonathan Frantz, & Aidan Kelley were also among the Rockies top hitters. The Orioles also had some hot bats including Jake Hellinger & Jake Kern who both went 5 for 5 and scored a combined total of 8 runs!

On Saturday June 4th Coach DeLucia’s single “A” Rockies took the diamond against Coach Beresin’s Cubs. The Rockies Jake Kauftheil, Aidan Kelley showed some great defense having two put outs at home plate. Later in the game the duo of Jackson Andrew and Andrew Hammer executed another one two play at the plate. The Rockies offence was alive and well with Anthony Protomastro and Aiden Kelley going and impressive 5 for 5! Jackson Andrew, Justin DeLucia, Gabriel Feinstein, Jonathan Frantz, & Jake Kauftheil continued their hot hitting all going 4 for 4, and Christopher Ferrante stirred up some action of his own going a seasons best 4 for 5. The Cubs bats weren’t silent and Brett Beresin, Cole Boniface, & Jonathan Connelly kept the Rockies fielders on their toes throughout the game.

Highlights: 4 Pirates pitchers combined for a no hitter facing only 4 batters over the minimum. Ethan Falconer and George Lombardi pitched two innings each, and Charlie Murphy and Chris Walsh pitched an inning each to close out the game facing a total of only 7 batters. Chris Walsh also had a 2 RBI double and scored 2 runs while Seth Prusko was 2/3 with a walk and also scored two runs.

Highlights: In a game that was close all the way, Ethan Falconer, Chris Walsh and Mike Giardina all had key doubles. Ethan Falconer was on base three times, scored two runs, and closed the game in the bottom of the sixth executing a clutch 1 1-6 double play to end the game with the tying run on second. Michael Gairdina pitched two innings, struck out 4 and faced the minimum six batters.

In a tight contest, the Orioles edged out the Rockies 7-5. The Orioles' offensive charge was led by Michael Gaglioti (2-3 with a double and 2 RBI), Jared Kersh (2-3) and Ben Ciobataru (2-2 with an RBI). For the Rockies, Jason Weinhaus (1-3 with a double and 2 RBI), Kyle Campbell (2-3 with an RBI), Sam Cascioli (1-3 with an RBI) and Will Palmieri (1-3 with an RBI) led the offense. On the pitching side, the Orioles' Kersh (2 IP, 3 K), Sean White (2 IP), Gaglioti (1 IP, 1K) and Alex Rajovic (1 IP, 1K), as well as the Rockies' Palmieri (2 IP, 1K), Ryan Cavanagh (2 IP, 1K) and Weinhaus (1 IP, 1K) all tossed good games.

In a see-saw battle, the Rockies edged the Orioles 14-12 in a Memorial Day contest at Town Park. Strong offensive performances by Kyle Campbell (2-2 with a double and 4 RBI), Jason Weinhaus (3-3 with a double and 2 RBI), Lucas Shippee (1-3 with 2 RBI), Sam Cascioli (1-2 with an RBI) and Ryan Cavanagh (1-1 with 3 walks) led the Rockies' offense, while the Orioles were led by Richard Wright (3-4 with 2 RBI), Sean White (1-4 with 2 RBI), Alex Rajovic (1-2 with an RBI), Will Gaglioti (2-3) and Michael Gaglioti (2-4). On the pitching side, the Rockies' Campbell, Weinhaus, Shippee, Cavanagh, Will Palmieri and Alex Kohlhagen each tossed an inning apiece, while the Orioles' Rajovic (2 IP), White (1 IP), Patrick Healy (1 IP) and Jared Kersh (1 IP) took the hill for the Orioles.
