In a well-played game, the Royals scratched out two runs in the second inning.  Royals pitchers Will Moreo, Greg Fries and Tom Feinstein kept the game close, along with an impressive over-the-head backwards catch by Will Moreo. Greg Fries and Nick Caviola provides the Royals two hits.  Chris Walsh turned the tide with a game winning 3 RBI double in the third, and Charlie Murphy, Ethan Falconer and Chris Walsh held the Royals scoreless for the balance of the game.  They were helped by some great defense including a spectacular leaping snag of a line drive by Charlie Murphy at shortstop.

Highlights: Pirates went up 7-1 with an onslaught of hitting including doubles by Chris Walsh, Charlie Murphy, George Lombardi and Nick Petrella.  Chris Walsh had 2 RBI's to follow the 3 RBI's he had in the quarterfinals, Charlie Murphy also had 2 RBI.  George Lombardi and Michael Giardina each scored two runs.  Michael Giardina pitched two key hitless innings in the middle of the game, but the Tigers battled back with a run in the 5th and 3 more in the 6th.  However, Charlie Murphy struck out the side in the 6th getting the last out with the tying run on first.

In a Majors playoff contest, the Rockies bested the Rays 14-6.  Offensive fireworks for the Rockies were provided by Alex Kohlhagen (4-4 with 2 doubles and 2 RBI), Sam Cascioli (2-4 with 3 RBI), Kyle Campbell (2-3 with a walk and 2 RBI), Tom Alfredo (2-3 with a double, walk and RBI) and Jason Weinhaus (2-4 with an RBI).  For the Rays, Dylan Muniz (1-1 with 2 walks and 2 RBI), Jake Murphy (1-3 with a double and 3 RBI), Steven Palmesi (1-2 with a walk and RBI) and Mark Machado (2-3) led the charge.  On the hill, the Rockies' Kohlhagen, Campbell, Alfredo, Weinhaus, Will Palmieri and Luke Shippee each threw an inning, while the Rays countered with Muniz (2 IP), Murphy (1 IP), Palmesi (1 IP), Machado (1 IP) and Jake Heffler (1 IP).
