Last Chance to have Bedford Schools Mail Absentee Ballot to You

May 13 is the deadline to submit an application for an absentee ballot in the unusual school board and budget vote IF you need it mailed to you.

The school board and budget vote is May 20. Five people are running for three seats on the Board of Education.

Under Bedford's school board election rules, they run for specific seats. In an unusual move this spring, two incumbents agreed to run for each other's seat (one is for one year, to fill an unexpired term.)

Voters may cast one vote for each of the three seats up for election.

One 3-year term: July 1, 2014—June 30, 2017

The seat is currently held by Andrew Bracco.

According to the Bedford District Clerk, May 13 is the deadline for submitting an application for absentee ballot if the ballot is to be mailed to the voter.

May 19 is the deadline for submitting an application for absentee ballot if the ballot is to be hand delivered to the voter. However, a ballot may only be hand-delivered to the registered voter for whom the application is being submitted.  All other ballots must be mailed to the absentee voter.

All completed ballots must be received by 5 p.m. May 20 in the District Clerk's Office to be counted.
