PRES Students Learn at 'Magnet Makers'

Kids at Pound Ridge Elementary School (PRES) gathered Tuesday for Magnet Makers, a science workshop to learn about magnetism and ways to manipulate objects.

The students met Christopher Stetson, an instructor from High Touch High Tech, which is located in Weston, CT and strives, as its slogan says, to make science fun.

The experiments learned including moving objects in water without touching them with hands, using model cars and doing an ad-hoc tug of water with a strand that had an electromagnet.

Magnet Makers was scheduled to have three sessions for third-grade students. The session was co-sponsored by the PRES PTA and the school's Arts & Science Enrichment Committee.
