About Ali
I love profiling local businesses and covering local business issues as a freelance writer.
Entrepreneurship is a huge part of the American culture and part of our history; from stay-at-home mom Dorothy Gerber (who launched the Gerber Empire from her kitchen) to Harvard phenomena turned the father of social networking, Mark Zuckerberg, entrepreneurial spirit has become part of the American dream.
I think entrepreneurs are the most interesting people out there – they are passionate and driven, but – especially during these precarious economic times, I admire the innovative spirit that allows them to evolve with the times so they can keep their businesses operating.
As a nod to the entrepreneurs who are also writers, I've just launched a new blog, jackson-jolley.squarespace.com, which will focus on the business side of freelance writing.

Hi Ali -- My favorite local restaurants are Via Vanti, Restaurant 121, Village Social, Pour, Bedford Post, Tuscan Oven, Modern Barn & North for sit-down restaurants. Tenga, Kicho and Belizzi are our go-to places for take-out/delivery. Hope this helps. On a separate subject, I really enjoyed "The Red Tent" -- hope you are liking it!
