About Amy

I LOVE all things related to food and travel.  Luckily, these pair together nicely; the world is a big place with many delectable cuisines to experience.

I attended The French Culinary Institute in 1996 while interning at Bouley restaurant in Manhattan.  After that, I cooked my way around the world, from NYC to Minneapolis to the island of Guam in the Pacific and finally back to NYC where I worked as chef of the Mediterranean restaurant Mezze.

Since moving  to Northern Westchester to start a family with my husband, I've worked as a private caterer, a personal chef, a cooking teacher, and a freelance writer .    I also maintain a travel blog, www.amywattbaker.com.  I have two amazing young boys who have caught the travel bug, too.  Their epicurean tastes remain a work in progress.

Hi Amy, as one of our resident food experts, would you be willing to weigh in on this week's Patch Picks: Your Favorite Local Chef? Is there any top chef or new up-and-comer our readers should know about? Any pointers would be greatly appreciated!
