  • Hometown: Rochester, NY
  • Email: lisab@Patch.com
  • Phone: (914) 319-9044
  • Birthday: June 10
  • Bio: Before becoming the Bedford Katonah Patch editor, I was a freelance writer.  Before that, I received my Bachelor's degree from the University at Buffalo and Master's degree from New York University.  After a brief stint in higher education, I served as the communications director for the National Academy Foundation, a national nonprofit in New York City.  I love living in Northern Westchester, and think it's a special corner of the world.  If I could just import a Wegmans from Rochester, life would be complete.  I live in Cross River with my husband, Jonathan, and two children, Maxwell and Amanda, who both attend school in the Katonah Lewisboro district.

Your Beliefs

At Patch, we promise always to report the facts as objectively as possible and otherwise adhere to the principles of good journalism. However, we also acknowledge that true impartiality is impossible because human beings have beliefs. So in the spirit of simple honesty, our policy is to encourage our editors to reveal their beliefs to the extent they feel comfortable.

This disclosure is not a license for you to inject your beliefs into stories or to dictate coverage according to them. In fact, the intent is the opposite: we hope that the knowledge that your beliefs are on the record will cause you to be ever mindful to write, report and edit in a fair, balanced way. And if you ever see evidence that we failed in this mission, please let us know.

Politics

    * How would you describe your political beliefs? Left-leaning.

    * Are you registered with a certain party? I'm a registered independent.

Religion

    * Do you consider yourself religious? Not particularly.  I'm fascinated by the cultural side of religions.  As my kids become more interested in questions about a higher power, I do think about it more though.

      * Do you identify with a certain religion? If so, which one? I was raised Catholic and married someone Jewish so I'm pretty open to new experiences.

Local Hot Button Issues

    * What do you think are the most important issues facing the community? Taxes, educational quality, open space and historic preservation, sustainable living.

    * Where do you stand on each of these issues? As a parent of young children and a relatively new homeowner, I'm still learning and understanding.  I believe in engaging and talking with your neighbors and the larger community as a way to learn.

Lisa, I can't post an event for Rotary because it won't take the location and it won't let me add the location. Please advise, Regina
