Planners Continue Stepping Stones Review, What's Happening This Week

And here's a look at this week's meetings and stories coming up.

1. Stepping Stones review continues

Planners are continuing to review the for a special-use permit to build a parking lot at the historic home of Bill and Lois Wilson, respective co-founders of Alcoholics Anonymous and the Al-Anon Family Groups. And, neighbors of the Katonah site continue to press for resolution of their concerns about traffic and noise. The foundation has revised a a protocol governing its activities and additional neighbors have submitted letters both in support and against the foundation's proposals. Tonight's action starts at 8 p.m. at town hall at 321 Bedford Road.

2. School boards to meet

Now that budgets have passed in both districts, local school boards can move on to other business. Both the Bedford Central School board and the Katonah Lewisboro school boards plan to meet this week. BCSD gets underway at 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Fox Lane Middle School theatre, KLSD starts Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in the high school library.

5. Some rain expected today/tomorrow, temps remain high

Look for some scattered showers and thunderstorms, mainly after 10 a.m. today, according to the National Weather Service. It's still going to be hot, so pack some cold water for the kids today. Wednesday brings another chance of showers and thunderstorms before 10 a.m.—only 30 percent, however—then a slight chance of showers and thunderstorms after 2 p.m. Remember to check Patch's traffic page for weather-related road problems.
