Police: $50K in Jewelry Missing From Bedford Home

Police say a resident reported a bag of jewelry stolen from her bedroom closet.

Among other police activity was an incident classified as a burglary.

Police say they received a call Oct. 2 from a homewner who reported jewelry missing from their home, valued at approximately $50,000. The theft, she said, happened sometime between Sept. 29 and Oct. 2, when they homeowners arrived at their Old Post Road residence to find their master bedroom closet completely ransacked.

The homeowner also reported that the home was for sale and in preparation for open house showings, she had placed all of her most valuable jewelry in a bag and stashed in her closet.

Police say there was no forced entry. They are actively investigating the incident.
