Bedford: Chowder & Marching Tag Sale and Clean Up Weekend

When: Friday-Saturday, May 3-4, 8:30 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Where: Bedford Highway Yard at Route 22 and Route 172

Description: Bedford's best known tag sale takes place the same weekend that the Chowder & Marching service club picks up unwanted items from locals. Come to the highway yard to find an array of treasures at bargain prices.

Katonah: Spotlight Theater Presents Young Frankenstein

Where: The Harvey School, Katonah

When: May 3-4, May 10-11

Cost: $18

Description: Spotlight Theater presents the Mel Brooks musical. Dr. Frankenstein aims to fulfill his grandfather's legacy by bringing a corpse back to life. With help and hindrance from servant Igor, buxom assistant Inga and needy fiancée Elizabeth, his experiment yields success and unexpected consequences.

Katonah: Fiber Arts Trunk Show 

When: Saturday May 4, Sun. May 5, 10 a.m. - 5 p.m.

Where: The Red Barn at the John Jay Homestead, 400 Jay Street, Katonah

Cost: Free admission

Description: A sale of Quilts, Fiber Art, Hooked Rugs, Jewelry and more will benefit the Katonah Museum of Art.

Carmel: 8th Annual Children's Expo and Public Safety Day

When: Saturday, May 4, 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

Where:  Putnam County TOPS Building, 112 Old Route 6, Carmel. RAIN OR SHINE. 

Cost: Free

Description: The Putnam County Dept. of Health offers this free event to raise awareness about many aspects of child and public safety. Highlights include Operation "Safe Child" ID cards, Fire Safety House, car seat and backpack checks, bike helmet fittings, fire engine tours, face painting, interactive games and activities, demonstrations, safety information, raffle prizes and much more.

Chappaqua: Story Walk at Gedney Park

When: Through May 31, anytime

Where: Gedney Park, 131 Millwood Road, Chappaqua

Cost: Free

Description: StoryWalk™ is an outdoor reading activity. StoryWalk will begin directly behind the playground located in the front of Gedney Park. Look for the “StoryWalk” sign. All are welcome to visit this free StoryWalk. The featured book selection is “and then it’s spring” by Julie Fogliano, illustrated by Erin E. Stead. The story perfectly captures those early days of winter-sneaking-into-spring, when we’re eagerly searching for any signs of fresh color and new life. And then suddenly, spring is sprung!

Croton-on-Hudson: St. A's 5K Walk to Squash Hunger

When: Saturday, May 4, 9 a.m.

Where: Senasqua Park, Elliot Way & Half Moon Bay Dr, Croton on Hudson

Cost: $20

Description: Saint Augustine’s Episcopal Church will host the St. A’s 5K Run/Walk to Squash Hunger on Saturday, May 4th at 9am. Race proceeds will benefit the Cortlandt Emergency Food Bank. Race registration and start/finish line will be at Senasqua Park, Elliot Way, Croton on Hudson.

Pleasantville: JCC Children's Carnival

Where: The Rosenthal Community Jewish Center of Northern Westchester

When: Sunday, May 5 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Cost: Free entry, tickets for rides and games are $20/25 tickets or $50/65 tickets

Description: The Pleasantville JCC is bringing in games, rides, a zip line, rock climbing mountain and more for a day of fun. Click here to view a schedule of events. Proceeds benefit the JCC's programs for children with special needs.

Sleepy Hollow: Friends of Music Concerts Presents Benjamin Beilman

Where: Sleepy Hollow High School, 210 N Broadway, Sleepy Hollow

When: Saturday, May 4, 2013, 8 p.m.

Cost: $30

Description: Violinist Benjamin Beilman, together with his piano collaborator Yekwon Sunwoo, will perform works by Francis Poulenc, Johannes Brahms, Olivier Messiaen and Franz Schubert. Beilman is the recipient of Friends of Music Concerts’ Fourth Performance Award. Somers: The Leukemia & Lymphoma Society's Coffee Chat (followed by a Fun Run!)

Where: Tazza Cafe, 249 Route 202, Somers, NY 

When: Saturday, May 4 at 10 a.m.

Tarrytown: Spring Crafts at Lyndhurst 

Where: Lyndhurst, 635 S Broadway, Tarrytown

When: Friday, Saturday and Sunday May 3, 4 and 5 from 10 a.m to 5 p.m.  

Cost: $10

Description: The Hudson Valley's most popular craft show returns to Tarrytown for its 29th year. Discover the unique designs and creative artistry of over 275 leading artists and craftspeople, from across the country, as they exhibit, sell and talk about their contemporary handcrafted works of art. Collectors, art enthusiasts and discerning shoppers will enjoy the rare opportunity to meet these visionary artists and purchase their latest work. The show includes one-of-a-kind and limited edition jewelry, fashion and accessories, furniture,and home décor pieces, as well as functional and sculptural work in ceramics, glass, metal, painting, photography, wood and mixed media. Despite its name, the fair offers more than just crafts. Visitors can also eat in our new expanded food court, purchase specialty foods and participate in children's activities throughout the weekend.

Yorktown: Relay for Life Historic House Tour

Where: The event will begin at Hilltop Hanover Farm in Yorktown Heights. 

When: Sunday, May 5 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Cost: $50 per adult and $25 for children under 16.

Description: The third annual Yorktown's Historic House Tour, co-chaired by Mary Anne Ruvo and Gina Miller, that will benefit Yorktown's Relay for Life. Visitors will step into homes that once belonged to tenant farmers of the Van Cortlandt family. The six additional historic homes
