Reader's Choice: Best Spots for Hiking

Weigh in on this week's Patch poll which asks where locals love to walk or run in town or nearby.

The weekend weather gave everyone a reason to get outside and enjoy their neighborhood parks and local trails.

With stately stone walls, semi-rural landscape and top-notch trails, Bedford has plenty of terrain to offer a variety of hikers from the serious nature-lover to the weekend walker.

Where did you go? Where are your favorite places to hike?

We've started a list below but feel free to add your place in the comments if it's not on this list. We'll add it to our poll.

(elaborate more on where in the comments)

Voting in the poll below is open until 9 a.m. Friday. Because this poll is not scientific, it is not the sole consideration in choosing a winner. The winner will be determined by the Patch editor (please leave positive comments below to assist), based on poll results and reviews on Patch Places.

Please vote only once per survey, per Patch. We will announce the winner at noon Friday.

Thanks for the suggestion - I will add it to the poll. I love all of these places to hike but for a short walk, one of my favorites is the trail behind St. Matthews off Route 22. Very peaceful.

Gedney Park on Rt. 133 in Chappaqua actually welcomes dogs off leash. No horses to look out for, not even deer -- just dogs and their owners.

How come Turkey Mountain in Yorktown across from Peter Pratt isn't on the list? It's the perfect hike with kids, and the view from the summit is amazing. We just hiked there again recently with our son, who is 5: http://dagmarbleasdale.com/2012/03/sunday-hike/ Best, Dagmar Dagmar's momsense

Thanks Dagmar, we started the story with a short list that is growing. We are taking suggestions! We'll add it to our poll.
