Letter: Support Mark Lipton for K-L BOE

Dear Editor,

I am writing in support of Mark Lipton who is running for re-election the Katonah-Lewisboro Board of Education. Mark has lived in and been an active member of our community for over 10 years.

He has a daughter in our school system and has served on BOE for 6 years. The fact that Mark has been selected by his fellow trustees to be their president twice is a true testament to his excellent work, service, and leadership abilities on the Board.  In addition to his active involvement in our schools, Mark has served with the Katonah-Bedford Hills Volunteer Ambulance and is firmly committed to public service. 

Mark wants schools that set a high standard for our students but understands that in this economy, we must be very careful with our financial resources.  His experience and dedication is exactly what we need right now to successfully deal with our unions and finances. I am convinced that Mark would continue to do an excellent job in this position, and continuity in leadership is critical to this community as we go forward into the many challenges the lie ahead.
