Police Charge Two with DWI

A Bedford Hills man was arrested after police caught him allegedly speeding on South Bedford Road.

Police conducted a traffic stop at 12:20 a.m. on Sept. 15 and interviewed Michael Kerans, 57. Police said they observed his Mercedes Benz going 50 mph in a 30 mph zone and drifting over the double yellow lines.

During their interview, police said they noticed a strong smell of alcohol on Kerans' breath. They administered field sobriety tests, which Kerans failed, and asked him to take an alco-sensor test, which he refused. He was taken to headquarters for processing where he refused to take a breath test.

He was charged with DWI and released without bail pending a court appearance.

A Scarsdale man was arrested after police observed his car drifting and making abrupt stops on Bedford Road.

Jordan White, 42, was stopped at 2:49 a.m. on Sept. 16 after he struck his Land Rover on a curb in the roadway. Police said they noticed he had bloodshot, glassy eyes, and his breath smelled of alcohol.

Police administered field sobriety tests, which he failed. White refused an alco-sensor test at the scene. He was taken to police headquarters where he refused to take a chemical test.

White was charged with DWI and released without bail pending a court appearance.
